If you are self-employed then you will need to find a way of bringing in business. Some self-employed people tend to subcontract to one or two clients whereas others may be working for different people or companies on a daily basis. If you are having to find work there are a number of ways in which you can do this. Some people rely solely on word of mouth, which can work really well but you may find that you have patches where you have little or no work to keep you going. In some industries networking is fantastic, it gives you the opportunity to meet with your potential clients face to face and allows you the opportunity to sell your products or services.

Advertising online can boost your business quickly, especially if you use social media or pay per click ads which can be live instantly. If you decide to promote your website through SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) then you will need to allow up to 6 months to start to see any results although, if your website is already established new pages etc. may be picked up within a week or so.
