To work or not to work?

As wrong as it is, I still find many people are stating that they are better off for not working than working for minimum wage. This is a sad situation this day in age, when everyone should be rewarded financially for working and not suffer because of it. Often this is the case for parents with young children, where they also have to pay for nursery fees making it almost pointless in going to work.

When I was faced with a similar situation, you do have to consider the long term. My children will soon both be in school and then I will not have the cost of nursery. This means at this time I will be able to have more money left over and therefore will be financially better off. Had I chose to be out of work for years, I might have found it a lot harded to get back in to work and get a job when the time comes.
