Getting support when out of work

Many people find themselves out of work unexpectedly and this can cause a lot of emotional and financial stress. Finding a job is often not a quick process and during this time you may need support to help you know where to look and how to apply for jobs as well as help with housing and living costs.
The first place to go is to your local job centre. They will be able to help you with the paper work that you need to complete to start to claim job seekers allowance and will also help find you suitable vacancies you can apply for.
If you need emotional support they can also put you in touch with groups that will talk to you about how to manage your stress and what to do if you are worried about something. It may be that there is training that is available to you to help you get back in to work.
