If you are searching for a new job then you may consider registering with a recruitment agency to help you find work, but what can they do for you?
Normally a recruitment agency will specialise in a certain area of recruitment this could be anything such as recruitment within education or recruitment within the finance sector. If possible then it’s best to try to register with a more specific recruitment agency that specialises in your field of work.
The recruitment agent will then ask you to come in for a chat, this will be in the style of an informal interview normally where they will look through your CV and talk about your particular skill set.
They will then usually go away and check if they have any suitable positions that they would like to put you forward for. If they do they will then ask you to complete an application form and arrange a formal interview for you at the selected company.
After the interview they will call you to offer feedback and hopefully to give you the offer of employment.

There are many teaching agencies out there all charging different fees and offering benefits to register with them. You may want to try and use one that has been recommended to you. If the agency asks you to pay a fee upfront to register with them, you may wish to ask for a two week free trial to see how they work before committing.
A good agency will not only help find you work in the areas you wish to work in but should also support you in terms of lesson planning and material and emotional support with difficult situations. They may not have staff trained to deal with giving advice on specific circumstances but they should be able to point you in the right direction of someone that can.
Many agencies only charge a fee if they find you work, make sure you know what this fee is upfront so there are n nasty surprises in your first pay packet.

There are many avenues you can explore when it comes to finding a teaching job suitable to you. If you want something that is local, you may look in local newspapers or on the council’s website as these are often the only places you will see them advertised.
There are also some great teaching job agencies out there that will hunt down the right position for you. The teaching vacancies they have available range from full time to part time and permanent to fixed contract / temporary. If you have recently become unemployed or have decided to start supply teaching work then this can be a great way to quickly land the job you want. The teaching agencies will not only help you with finding a job but often offer help and support in terms of class room behaviour or lesson planning. Many have a website with useful downloads that can be accessed by teachers that are registered with them.

Switching jobs too sudden can cause problems with your CV, and you can make yourself appear as an unreliable employee. It must be said that once you’ve spent so long in a company and you feel a new step is crucial to the development of your career, you should plan it in advance.

You need to know what you’re looking for, the responsibilities you want and the type of businesses you want to develop in. This is because it’s important to be sure, you do not want to end up making a career move that you come to regret later.
Planning your next step can ensure that you don’t have any gaps on your CV and you can swiftly move from one job to another when it’s planned out in detail. Career moves happen all the time but not all of them work out as expected so make sure you have a clear idea on what you’re looking for.

How to write a good cover letter to go with a CV and what should you include, is a question most of us have asked at some point. Very often an advert will say if you should send a covering letter with your application although some bigger firms have a set application form for you to complete and do cover letter, so always be sure to check this first. Your covering letter is a chance for you to give the company you are applying to an overview of why you think you would be suitable for the position offered and should highlight the main reasons that you would like to apply and why you feel you would be suited.
In contrast to a CV, a cover letter should be short and sweet and to the point. It is usually three or four paragraphs and should give the employer an overview of who you are and your key skills. I always think that a CV should be broken down in to three sections. The opening paragraph should commence with an introduction to who you are and explain your current situation. The middle paragraph should mention your qualifications and brief employment history and the last paragraph should talk about why you think you would be suitable for then job.
